We are thrilled & grateful to all our
out-of-state friends & family
willing to travel to attend our event
some details for those of you making this journey:
We’ve reserved a discounted block of hotel room options at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Beaumont (15 min from our venue) for Friday and/or Saturday night.
Those can be reserved by either:
     •   calling 951-769-3600 & mentioning the group name “LaFountain / Hurley Wedding”
     •   following & booking through this link:
https://www.hiexpress.com/redirect?path=hd&brandCode=EX&localeCode=en&regionCode=1&hotelCode=bmtca&_PMID=99801505&GPC=LHO&cn=no&viewfullsite=true
(*if more rooms than we requested need to be added to this block, please reach out to us & we can request additional. I was also assured that Sundays have a discounted rate anyway for those looking to stick around that night as well)
For flying in, all local airports will be a drive from our venue
LAX will always have the most frequent & direct flights available, though Palm Springs airport may be closer. We were also told John Wayne (Santa Ana) airport may lend a less-traffic-y drive (depending on the day & time you were to fly in… hey, welcome to SoCal!) Johnny & I are also partial to Bob Hope (Burbank) & Long Beach airports for just being smaller airports with the least amount of headache getting in & out of, though likely as far from our venue as LAX.
Again, if you have any trouble booking, feel free to reach out & we can offer any suggestion we may have!
Things to do near the venue:
     •   "adventure like PeeWee" & see the Cabazon Dinosaurs about 15 mins away!
     •   the 123 Farm 15 mins away has a “Lavender Nights” event the week of our wedding
     •   Morongo Casino is a nearby (“good times!”), which also has a bowling alley & golf course & likely cheapest gas around (which won’t mean much to our out-of-state guests)
     •   while maybe not a selling point for our east coast friends in fall, there are a variety of apple orchards nearby, including Willowbrook Farm where you can press your own cider & Snow-Line which has incredible apple cider donuts & their own winery
For those planning a longer stay in the SoCal area, we have plenty of recommendations if you need them!
Including:
     •   Griffith Observatory (great views - parking at the top now costs, but I was told there’s a shuttle from below & free little science museum/planetarium open everyday except Mon)
     •   on the Westside, Santa Monica Pier (*of course touristy, probably crowded, but near enough if you fly into LAX) & Venice Canals are a nice little stroll nearby. If you’re over there in the a.m., Sidecar Doughnuts has the absolute best donuts, including a savory one with a poached egg in the middle if you’re not as much of a sweet tooth. There are a few other locations of Sidecar too, if you find yourself at The Grove (outdoor shopping center with a nice little covered outdoor food court/“farmer’s market”)
     •   In Downtown LA, you’ll find The Broad (free art museum, though some specific exhibits may require purchased tickets), The Last Bookstore, Grand Central Market (with the Angel’s Flight railway just outside they recently opened back up - thank you, “La La Land”), Perch has a rooftop bar that offers some neat views of the city, & Arts District Brewing or Angel City Brewery are 2 of our favorites downtown brew halls
     •   LACMA is a neat & expansive art museum with many other museums nearby, including the La Brea Tarpits (free), Craft Contemporary (donation based on Sundays) & the new Academy of Motion Pictures Museum (haven’t been yet)
     •   if gardens are your thing, you may want to visit Descanso or Exposition Park Rose Garden, next to California Science Center (free) & Natural History Museum or the LA Arboretum (say hi if you do, we live right down the street!)
     •   if you’re here the week prior, the PCH Airshow is a very cool event we plan to attend, happening October 4 - 6 in Huntington Beach
We'll continue to expand this list as more ideas cross our minds
